Adolescent Development

Recognizing that the teenage years are a key juncture on a student's path toward college, the Adolescent Development Program is designed to ensure that at-risk youth make a successful transition from adolescence to adulthood. By offering a diverse range of experiences and mentoring to complement their schooling, the program meets the academic, physical, social and emotional needs of Dorchester's most at-risk teens between the ages of 11-18. Students have access to college readiness opportunities including academic and college preparation courses, sports/recreation and leadership development. During the 2011 fiscal year, 64% of Adolescent Development seniors enrolled in collge. The program operates Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
